News organization criticizes crypto ATMs

Truthout, an online nonprofit news organization that describes itself as "a platform for progressive and transformative ideas," published an article Friday criticizing cryptocurrency ATMs for providing unfavorable exchange rates and for targeting low income consumers.

The article, titled "Bitcoin ATM Companies Are Preying on the Poor," is also critical of the cryptocurrency market, comparing it to the subprime mortgage crisis of the mid-2000s.
