June 22, 2010
Airlines and the director of the Civil Aviation Authority in New Zealand have been working together to close a loophole in airport security, after a local television news story exposed major flaws in their airport electronic kiosk security, according to stuff.co.nz.
The story involved two reporters that were able to check in through an Air New Zealand electronic kiosk under a false identities without detection.
Additionally, former police officer and security expert Ronnie McQuilter said the loophole was unacceptable and inexcusable. "The airlines have to come up with solutions and the director of CAA has to comply with those."
