Community Health Action of Staten Island recently installed a self-monitoring blood pressure kiosk at its Next Step and Recovery Center in the St. George neighborhood that is free to the community and available around the clock, according to an silove.com report.
The health department provided the device and educational materials. Staff at the facility have been trained to answer questions and help people in need of follow-ups or referrals.
Officials from the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, the NYU School of Medicine and Borough Hall presented the kiosk to the community at a recent gathering.
