New York awards $1.3 million kiosk contract

April 7, 2002

NEW YORK - Golden Screens Interactive Technologies Inc. has received a $1.3 million contract from the city of New York to provide a minimum of 59 CityAccess e-Government kiosks.

The kiosks will provide free Internet access, as well as information about city services, and will be supported by advertising on the side panels and screens. New York's Department of Information Technology and Telecommunications (DoITT) awarded the contract, which calls for a minimum of one kiosk to be installed at each of 59 community boards. DoITT's goal is that the kiosks will be self-supporting through advertising revenue.

Golden Screens, based in New York, is the developer of GS Planet, a national network of interactive kiosks in public places.
