MANILA, Philippines -- Seeking to improve customer service and expand the telecommunications market in the Philippines, nine leading technological firms have joined forces in a solutions council.
Hewlett-Packard Phils. Corp. is heading up the effort, called HP Mobile Applications council, according to the Philippine Star. Others involved include Microsoft Corp., Intellimedia, and Jupiter Systems Inc.
The goal of the new council is to empower Philippine businesses and technological services through mobile applications and solutions. The council will offer a variety of products, including electronic kiosks, satellite- and Java-based phone applications and services, and mobile customer relationship management, through its members.
Vincent Rodriguez, HP Phils. alliance manager, said the service would not dilute technological competition in the Philippines.
"This makes (members) more competitive by enabling quicker response time to their customers, competitors, and changes in the marketplace," Rodriguez told the Philippine Star. "End-users become mobile professionals who are more efficient and effective with their ability to access critical information."
