MEI, the world's leading developer of electronic payment systems, announced that its AE2800 bill acceptor has been integrated into the new OrderXCEL® self-serve system manufactured by International Automated Systems, Inc. (IAUS:OB) of Salem Utah. The OrderXCEL system offers new ordering convenience for consumers, enabling them to avoid lines, and order and pay for meals faster than ever before.
The OrderXCEL self-serve technology was debuted in October 2003 at the ChefplexTM complex in Orem, Utah which houses four different, independently owned and operated restaurants under a single roof. Chefplex plans to deploy a total of 30 OrderXCEL systems in other locations during 2004.
Using the OrderXCEL system, customers can order any menu item from any of the different restaurants in the Chefplex complex using a single touch monitor. Customers pay for all menu items on a single ticket with cash, credit, debit or check, without the help of cashiers, and without going to different counters. The OrderXCEL system, Chefplex can process orders for 10-20 people at a single time with only one employee.
The OrderXCEL system benefits Chefplex and customer alike. Chefplex improves efficiency, and reduces overhead and shrinkage because employees don't need to be concerned with a cash drawer or processing transactions. Customers have access to a staff that is 100% focused on service and quality food delivery.
IAS selected the MEI AE2800 cash acceptor as a result of the company's reputation for quality - for having the most reliable product and the best customer support in the industry. Because the system was a new technology concept, IAS needed a partner that would work with them from concept to completion.
