New Jersey approves 240 EV charging ports on state highways

EV vehicle owners will be able to charge up at Garden State Parkway and New Jersey Turnpike service areas under a $25.7 million agreement approved by the state's turnpike authority, according to a nj.com report.

The agreement will bring a total 240 EV charging ports to the authority's two toll roads.

Applegreen New Jersey Welcome Centres LLC agreed to build 80 EV charging ports by Dec. 31, 2025 in addition to 160 charging ports by April 2033.
