PORTSMOUTH, N.H. -- The Portsmouth Planning Board is considering deployment of a computerized kiosk with an electronic calendar and map to provide people with information on historical, cultural and artistic attractions happening in the city.
The goal is to present and promote all of the city's opportunities in one place, so as not to overwhelm residents and tourists with too much information, according to a news report in the Portsmouth Herald.
The creative arts business in Portsmouth is a $26.1-million industry, the article said. The planning board has recommended that a Web site be developed in coordination with the kiosk project.
Printed brochures and maps will be provided at the kiosk for people who are not comfortable using computers, the article said.
