While it's normal to see cash-out/cash-in ATMs in branches, cashier's check machines remain a rare sight. But Rototype International recently unveiled a new offering — the CJD 8000 Cashier's Check machine.

The self-service unit was introduced concurrently with the company's new CJD 8000 Cashless ATM at a formal unveiling in New York City. A Rototype news release said that the machine was designed to help bank branches reduce costs by automating low-value transactions.
The Rototype solution incorporates a multi-access approach; customers can purchase their cashier's check via mobile device, Internet or at the ATM, using web-enabled software by Rototype.
Upon completion of the check purchase, a QR code is sent to the purchaser's mobile device. The customer collects the cashier's check by scanning the code at the machine.
"Our unique security feature ensures all check content[s] are printed on-demand, including security control elements such as MICR code and encrypted digital signature that are issued by the bank's host computers in real time," Rototype America CEO Harres Tan.
Upon receiving a check, the payee can verify its authenticity, by using the Rototype mobile app to decode the check's printed digital signature.
A bank's processing center can also simply verification of the checks by integrating Rototype decryption routines into their check verification system software.
The CJD 8000 Cashier's Check machine is certified EMV Level 2 and ADA compliant, and is ready for immediate deployment in the U.S.
