PORTLAND, Ore. -- Healthnotes Inc. has launched the new Healthnotes Pharmacy application for touchscreen kiosks, complete with 2,000 patient-education monographs covering more than 10,000 prescription and over-the-counter medications by both brand and generic names.

Demonstrations of the new Healthnotes Pharmacy application will be taking place at NACDS Marketplace, June 7-10, 2003, at the San Diego Convention Center. "Consumers view their pharmacies as trusted healthcare resources. Pharmacists want complete, reliable health and wellness information they can either direct their patients to or use in one-on-one counseling," said Schuyler Lininger, Healthnotes president and CEO.
The patient-education monographs include specific dosage, side effects, precautions, storage instructions and other information of interest to pharmacy customers. Each monograph also outlines the possible drug interactions consumers should be aware of when taking the medication.
Healthnotes also covers vitamin safety and herbal safety with information on more than 18,200 depletions and interactions between medications and vitamins, herbs, and foods.
Healthnotes' kiosk software tracks customer use and reports back to the pharmacy actionable data on shoppers' specific health concerns and product interests. This allows pharmacies to easily identify health trends in their stores and merchandise products accordingly.
