QLess is introducing its QLess app for iPhone and Android devices, which is designed to help organizations in everything from healthcare and government, to retail and higher education by cutting both their lines and customer wait times.
The new app handles this task by giving an organization's patrons a cloud-based platform to queue up in "virtually," via app, phone call, text, website or on-site kiosk. As the person waiting moves up in line, they receive updated wait times allowing them to work, play or just nap, without losing their place or their patience.
"We give time back to millions of people who otherwise would have to waste time standing in line," said QLess CEO Dr. Alex Bäcker. "Around the world, our customers can now offer iPhone and Android users a superior customer experience with the QLess app. I'm thrilled that our app has already received 4.5 out of 5 stars in the Android Play store."
The app comes out after the company recently announced it had raised $3.5 million in capital investment from privately held specialty investment firm, Wellington Financial LP.
"We are impressed with the transformative technology QLess provides," said Wellington Vice President Eric Speer. "QLess is pioneering in an area that benefits all of us: Creating a world without lines."
The company also announced the appointment of veteran software entrepreneur, Michael Bell, president and COO of lifecycle management software company, Bridg, to its board of directors. Bell has led companies such as Infrascale, SOS Online Backup, 3PL Central, Software.com and Encore Software.
