New alliance allows Arral to disconnect wires

July 15, 2002

ONTARIO, Calif. -- Calling wireless connectivity the future of kiosk developments, kiosk manufacturer Arral Industries has entered into a collaborative agreement with wireless integrator Airpath Wireless Inc.

Under the agreement, Airpath Wireless will incorporate high-speed wireless technology into Arral's kiosk products, including its Internet and human resources units.

Arral officials said connectivity will cease to be an issue with kiosk deployments, because future kiosk models will feature data speeds of up to 11 MB per second, as opposed to the 256 KB rate of standard DSL connections.

"While we anticipate our traditional computer-based kiosks to continue to have an active user base, we see the need to take computer-based kiosks to a high level of technology," Ben Wheeler, Arral director of sales and marketing, said in a news release.

Based in Ontario, Calif., Arral Industries manufacturers a variety of kiosks for clients such as United Airlines, Chase Manhattan, and Budget Car Sales.
