Netyou, MEI remain teammates on WEBPhone project

September 4, 2004

WEST CHESTER, Pa. -- New York City payphone provider TCC Teleplex and public Internet kiosk deployer Netyou Computer Communication Corp. have selected cash payment systems provider MEI's Cashflow 330 coin acceptor for the TCC WEBPhone, which will be deployed in New York City over the next year.

TCC Teleplex and Netyou deployed the first WEBPhone on a trial basis in Manhattan this past February. TCC plans to install 100 WEBPhones throughout the city over a 12-month period starting in August. CashFlow 330 was part of the trial program.

"TCC is very pleased with the WEBPhone developed by Netyou, and the operation of the MEI CashFlow 330 coin acceptor," Alan Rothenstreich, TCC director of project marketing, said in a news release. "The Midtown Mahattan unit received two to three times the normal payphone usage, and the coin acceptor has proven a very reliable component."

The WEBPhone kiosk enables users to make calls, check business or home e-mail accounts, and take photos that can be attached to e-mails.
