AMSTERDAM -- Kiosk software developer NetShift Software Ltd. is using this year's KioskCom Kiosk Europe 2002 trade show and conference to display GamePoint's new public access kiosk.
The GamePoint terminal, which will shortly begin a trial program in 50 locations around The Hague, is a pay-per-use kiosk that offers Internet access, e-mail services, Web-based games, and e-commerce.
The machines, which have been configured to accept Euro coins, are powered by NetShift software and are monitored by NetShift's Enterprise remote management software.
Founded in 1998, Amsterdam-based GamePoint operates a gaming and entertainment platform in the Benelux region of Europe, which includes Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg. The company's business model is based around multiplayer games available through ISPs and portals.
In other NetShift news, the company announced that it has reached a reseller agreement with Mexican distributor Kioscosnet. Details of the agreement were not made available.
The Torreon, Mexico-based company recently launched an Internet kiosk program that allows deployers to install public access terminals at a cost of $3,000 per kiosk after initial franchise fees (minimum four kiosks).
Kioscosnet, which utilized NetShift's version 5 software platform in its Internet kiosks, plans to seek international partners in Latin America and Europe for its franchise program, according to NetShift.
