Leading public access network solution provider, NetShift is showing GamePoint's new Public Access Terminal at the 3rd annual Kiosks Europe event in Amsterdam, 17 to 19 June 2002.
The GamePoint Public Access Terminal is a pay-per-play kiosk that brings the power of the Internet to traditional gaming machine locations such as cafes, pubs, clubs, amusement arcades and other public venues. Users can access a wide range of services including highly playable web games, video e-mail, on-line news services, e-commerce and regular Internet access. Simply dropping a coin into the slot starts GamePoint's communicative interface that guides users through a highly engaging alternative to traditional gaming experiences.
Shortly to undergo trials in 50 locations in the Hague, the GamePoint solution uses NetShift Builder and NetShift Payment modules and is configured to accept Euro coins. The kiosks are monitored using NetShift Enterprise Remote Management that provides the capability to dynamically change content including playable web games.
Gamepoint's Public Access Terminal was developed in close collaboration with NetShift and the system has been integrated specifically for GamePoint's customer V&H Net Participates BV. GamePoint's rich heritage in the console and PC gaming sector has been built on extensive experience in peer-to-peer network gaming services. The company is a prolific games developer and is behind the largest web games portal in the Netherlands (www.spelpunt.nl) serving a gaming community of over one million players.
GamePoint is a NetShift integration partner and a NetShift Enterprise services provider. Managed network services based on the NetShift Enterprise platform are now locally available in the Benelux countries from the GamePoint Network operations Centre in Amsterdam. This enables kiosk operators in the region to benefit from the technical superiority and commercial and administrative power of NetShift Enterprise.
