NetShift releases version 6.0 software suite

July 1, 2002

NEWBURY, England -- Seeking robust solutions to integrate with its Enterprise remote management software, kiosk software developer NetShift Software Ltd. has launched version 6.0 of its Builder and Runtime software platforms.

NetShift officials said the software package was designed for use in stand-alone and network public access applications, with an emphasis on revenue-generating projects.

"Version 6.0 takes NetShift to the next level where kiosk developers and system integrators demand the kind of industrial strength expected when serious return on investment is at stake," Nigel Seed, NetShift chairman and chief executive officer, said in a news release.

Builder 6.0 features a keyboard design program that can produce a virtual keyboard that can run on NetShift and non-NetShift platforms.

Runtime 6.0 includes support for utility technologies, including NetShift e-mail client, video e-mail, e-mail objects, and NetShift viewer. The program can also run on networks managed by Enterprise or with stand-alone applications.

The software platforms will be available for free, 30-day evaluations. Evaluation copies will be available in early July through the company, according to Julian Haslam, NetShift marketing and communications manager, but no downloads will be available through the company's Web site.

Based in Newbury, England, NetShift provides public access self-service technology for deployers in 70 countries. NetShift-driven applications are utilized in the retail, transportation, government, and hospitaility sectors.
