NetShift, Brent unveil payment system

February 18, 2002

NEWBURY, England - Saying there is a need for a comprehensive payment system for pay-to-use machines, kiosk software developer NetShift Software Ltd. on Jan. 3 announced a strategic partnership with peripheral distributor Brent Electronic to produce and market a payment solution.

The system, known as PC Credit, has been designed specifically for public access computers, such as kiosks, gaming machines, and Internet stations. PC Credit controls the flow of notes, coins, and tokens, and includes module add-ons for magnetic stripe and smart cards.

"Brent Electronic is the recognized leader in components and spares," NetShift chief executive officer Nigel Seed said in a news release. "The synergies are obvious and we expect a long and fruitful relationship with Brent to service the ever growing kiosk/coin-operated PC market."

PC Credit will be displayed for the first time at Brent's exhibit space during the ATEI 2002 show in London Jan. 22-24.

Based in Newbury, England, NetShift's public access/self-service kiosk technology is currently deployed in more than 70 countries, including retail, information, communication, and entertainment outlets. Brent Electronic carries more than 10,000 product lines and distributes payment and payout devices, cabinet components, and security devices for the kiosk industry.
