NETSHIFT AND NCR SIGN PUBLIC ACCESS INTERNET KIOSK AGREEMENTS

April 9, 2002

Leading public access solutions provider, NetShift and global technology company, NCR Corporation have announced that the two companies have signed agreements in the United Kingdom, France, Italy and Spain designed to help businesses and other organisations meet the growing demand for public access Internet solutions."urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Under these agreements, NCR can license NetShift's best-of-breed software to its customers as part of a kiosk solution including the NCR EasyPoint 41 kiosk or the new NCR EasyPoint 45 kiosk that will be available in targeted regions from April. NetShift can refer its customers to NCR for kiosk hardware and NCR support services. The agreements, announced at CeBIT 2002 in Hannover, Germany (March 13-20), are expected to be followed by similar pacts in other European countries later in the year.

Typically located in shopping malls, coffee shops, convenience stores and similar places, public access kiosks provide consumers with a convenient gateway to Internet- and intranet-based services. The devices may be available on a free or pay-per-use basis and can include information, distribution, communication and transaction-based kiosks, depending on the owner's objectives and business requirements.

Commenting on the agreements, John Purcell, NetShift's Vice President of Marketing, said, "The alliance of NetShift's best-of-breed software solutions with NCR's global technology and services provides an irresistible package for current and future public access kiosk owners and further validates NetShift as a premier solutions provider. From concept development through multinational deployment to ongoing management and support, the combination of NetShift and NCR represents an exceptional total solution option, enabling kiosk deployments to deliver maximum ROI while providing end users with engaging and rewarding experiences."

Alberto Camuri, Vice President of NCR's Retail Solutions Division for Europe, Middle East, Africa and South Asia Pacific, commented, "Public access kiosks provide a service valued by consumers, especially those who are on the move or don't have access to the Internet at home or work. These agreements allow NCR and NetShift to better serve those organisations that are taking advantage of the growing demand for public access self-service devices."
