Women who visit Planned Parenthood centers in North Texas can soon find answers to sensitive questions on interactive kiosks.
NetShift, based in the UK with an office in Cooper City, Fla., and Virginia-based Affordable Kiosks have teamed up to deliver 26 kiosks for the centers.
The kiosks, Affordable Kiosk's new Slabb 5 model, will allow users to access health news and information designed especially for future parents.
U.S.-based Planned Parenthood offers family planning medical services, reproductive health care and birth control instruction in clinics throughout the nation.
Netshift's U.S. vice president of sales, Bob Gallner, said the kiosks will help women who are too embarrassed to ask staff members or volunteers for answers get the information they need.
The kiosks will be installed by the first of 2003.
The 90-pound Slabb 5 features a 15-inch monitor and has a minimum retail value of $2,295.
Cy Birg of Affordable Kiosks hopes that the project will increase the general public's kiosk awareness as well as helping the women.
