IRVINE, Calif. - A kiosk offering directions at event information at the Southern California shopping and entertainment complex Irvine Spectrum Center has won kudos in an annual competition honoring achievement in the field of communications.
Web site developer NetScope Inc., who developed the kiosk for the Southern California development firm The Irvine Company, earned a silver medal in the 2001 Mercury Awards, presented annually by MerComm Inc.
The award was the only honor bestowed in the kiosk category of the Mercury Awards's iNova Web site division. Other divisions honor achievement in the fields of design, video, marketing, annual reports, and public relations.
The kiosk offers a directory of stores and information on events, movie schedules, and sales. The silver medal was one of three earned by NetScope in the competition. The Irvine, Calif.-based company also in the Web-based categories of creative design and site redesign.
