NetNearU to power PayStar-Choice kiosks

LODI, Calif. - Internet kiosk provider PayStar Corp. (OTCBB:PYST) now has a software partner for its new kiosk program with Choice Hotels International (NYSE:CHH).

One week after announcing it would develop a public access kiosk network at Choice-brand hotels (See story: PayStar checks in to Choice Hotels), PayStar announced on March 18 that College Station, Texas-based NetNearU would provide software to power the Choice kiosks.

The kiosks will offer Internet and e-mail services along with information on Choice's hotel chains and access to Choice's frequent-guest program, Choice Privileges.

NetNearU's interactive content management software will provide remote management for the system, along with the ability to deliver digital media throughout the network. Participating Choice hotels will also be able to monitor the popularity of the terminals.

"Franchisees will be able to monitor guest usage, including session length, Web sites visited and peripherals used, as well as generate revenue and performance reports," Carla Buckner, PayStar vice president of sales and marketing, said in a news release.
