NetBooth enters e-payment sector with new division

LAS VEGAS -- Kiosk services provider NetBooth Corp. has added another bullet to its kiosk holster with the creation of its PAYCENTERS division. This division will market a line of electronic payment kiosks.

The e-payment kiosks will offer bill-payment services for a variety of consumer services, including credit card, mortgage, and utilities payments. Former Circuit City Stores executive Ken Antos will manage the PAYCENTERS division.

No information was available on short-term deployment plans. Officials at SMO Multimedia Corp. (Pink Sheets:SMOC), which is in merger talks with NetBooth (See story: SMO, NetBooth close in on merger), said the e-payment centers can be reconfigured for use with SMO's airport and shopping mall kiosks. The company plans to launch those kiosks later this year.
