MELBOURNE, Australia - Kiosk manufacturer NeoProducts Ltd., continuing its focus on government-related deployments, has wrapped up the installation of more than 100 government services kiosks for the Hong Kong government.
The Electronic Service Delivery (ESD) kiosks have been deployed at retails outlets, supermarkets, and shopping malls. The kiosks, which include scanners, printers, magnetic and smart card readers, touch monitors, and a Chinese keyboard, offer more than 70 public services and a range of personal services for Hong Kong residents.
The ESD program is part of the Hong Kong government's Digital 21 Information Technology Strategy. The service includes a bilingual Web site for Chinese- and English-speaking residents of the territory. The program earned Hong Kong the 2001 Stockholm Challenge Award for public services and democracy.
NeoProducts specializes in delivering kiosks to government agencies. The company is in the final stages of rolling out 9,000 employment kiosks for England's UK Jobcentres service.
