NEC unveils flat-panel displays

BOSTON - Semiconductor products manufacturer NEC Electronics Inc. is showcasing a pair of flat-panel displays designed for use in the kiosk sector at this week's Symposium for Information Display (SID) show at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston.

The units, among five introduced by NEC on May 20, come in 12.1-inch SVGA and 15-inch XGA models.

The 12.1-inch model, the NL8060BC31-20, is targeted at the industrial control, point-of-sale (POS), kiosk, and medical fields. POS, kiosk, factory automation, medical, and gaming sectors are the targets for the 15-inch model, the NL10276AC30-07.

According to an NEC release, the sample price of the 12.1-inch model is $380, while the 15-inch model is available for $425. Pricing is subject to change. The models, along with two others, will be displayed at NEC's booth at the SID show through May 24.
