Nebraska considers lottery ticket vending machines

Retailers in Nebraska voiced support at a legislative general affairs committee meeting Monday for a proposal to allow state lottery tickets to be sold in vending machines, according to a hastingstribune.com report. The retailers said the machines would relieve employees from handling lottery ticket sales.

Representatives of the gambling industry expressed opposition.

Nebraska is the only state other than South Carolina that does not use vending machines to sell lottery tickets.
