NCR unveils end-to-end RFID system for retail

NEW YORK —NCR Corp.and Laudis Systems LLC will demonstrate a radio frequency identification solution for item-level tagging at the source of manufacture during the upcoming RFID Journal and American Apparel and Footwear Association Summit.
NCR delivers end-to-end RFID solutions that help businesses solve real business problems. Laudis is a turnkey provider of RFID software solutions for tracking and locating assets.
The RFID Journal and AAFA Summit, to be held Aug. 15-16 at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, is the first event of its kind designed to address RFID-related opportunities and issues in the apparel and footwear industry.
Laudis and NCR will demonstrate their collaborative RFID solution that allows manufacturers to tag apparel at the source, enabling retailers to verify the location or the receipt of garments anywhere within the supply chain. The demonstration (Laudis AAFA Summit booth No. 3) will feature the Laudis apparel applications and item-level tracking solutions for clothing and footwear. NCR will provide hardware, such as hang tags, flap tags and RFID reader technology. NCR also is providing Laudis with consulting services and installation support for its end-to-end clothing solution.

The apparel application from Laudis is being piloted at Shenzhen, China-based Sungod Cashmere Knitwear Company, one of China's largest cashmere manufacturers.
