NCR to deploy self-checkout in Lithuania

VILNIUS, Lithuania — Self-checkout has arrived in Lithuania, courtesy of NCR Corp. and its reseller NEW VISION. IKI, Lithuania's second largest retail grocery chain, has deployed NCR FastLane self-checkout as a pilot at its store in Vilnius, providing IKI customers with the option to scan, bag and pay for goods themselves. NEW VISION is responsible for the sale and installation of the solution.

The self-checkout units are marketed as "IKI Bee," with the company's honeybee logo highlighted on the consumer interface touchscreen. The solution is designed to accept the retailer's "IKI Premium" loyalty card, cash and card payments, and to highlight pricing promotions.
