NCR named global POS retail software provider, upbeat for 2021

NCR Corp. is the leading global retail point-of-sale software provider, according to data from research and consulting firm RBR's Global POS Software 2020 Report.

The company has a 31% share in the North America retail and grocery segment, according to a press release.

The report also found NCR has greater market share in Western Europe (20%) than its two closest competitors combined.

David Wilkinson, president and general manager, NCR Retail, is optimistic for 2021.

"To address the changing customer demands in the pandemic and beyond, retailers are accelerating their IT projects," Wilkinson told Kisk Marketplace in an email. "With our platform approach, NCR is helping them to successfully drive their digital transformation and create new opportunities with customers. Looking at this increased demand for in-store technology that we are seeing, I feel optimistic about our business in the retail sector in 2021."
