NCR Corp., the world's leading retail point-of-sale provider, is bidding to buy Cardtronics PLC, an ATM owner/operator, for more than $1.7 billion against an earlier bid from Apollo Global Management Inc. and Hudson Executive Capital LP, according to a Bloomberg report.
NCR proposed a $39 per share all-cash deal, compared to $35 from Apollo and Hudson.
Shares for Cardtronics, which has a network of 285,000 ATMs across 10 countries, rose 15% on Friday, creating a $1.8 billion market value.
