ATLANTA - NCR Corp. announced in a news release its newest version of self-checkout: a "mini" model ideal for space-constrained retail locations.
The NCR FastLane Mini - which will be demonstrated at the Food Marketing Institute's annual technology convention, MARKETECHNICS®, in San Diego, Jan. 29-Feb. 1 - is equipped with a full range of tendering capabilities, and is the smallest full-function self-checkout system in the market.
"A growing number of consumers use self-checkout at supermarkets and other retail venues to avoid long lines and finish shopping more quickly," said Mike Webster, vice president and general manager, NCR Self-Service. "One-third smaller than our Express model, the NCR FastLane Mini fits virtually any store layout, allowing even retailers with space restrictions to offer their customers the convenience of self-checkout."
