PHOENIX, Ariz. -- Thanks to an agreement with Ticketmaster (NASDAQ:TCMS), the National Basketball Association's (NBA) Phoenix Suns are prepared to score a slam dunk with the team's fans this season using kiosks.
The team will utilize Ticketmaster's Loyalty Manager program during the 2002-`03 season. Loyalty Manager features a kiosk at the Suns' home facility, America West Arena. Season-ticket holders can swipe their credit cards at the kiosk to obtain points good for food, team merchandise, and memorabilia.
The franchise announced on Sept. 5 that it would expand its relationship with Ticketmaster this season, utilizing an after-market ticket service, Ticketmaster TeamExchange. The program will allow season ticket holders to sell their unused tickets online.
Phoenix is not the only NBA franchise that will utilize loyalty kiosks for its fans during the 2002-`03 season. In August, the Portland Trail Blazers announced that video loyalty club kiosks would be introduced at home games this season (See story: NBA team throws kiosks into marketing strategy).
