LINCOLN, Neb. - Kiosk technology developer nanonation has designed a new kiosk architecture that incorporates Apple Computer's new operating system, Mac OS X version 10.1, and has hired kiosk manufacturer Frank Mayer & Associates Inc. to design and build the systems.
The Lincoln, Neb.-based company offers Apple technology on the back end of its system through WebObjects and QuickTime streaming servers, so using Mac OS X version 10.1 as the operating system made sense, nanonation president Bradley Walker said in a news release.
"Our new Mac OS X client handles out media-intensive applications extremely well, offers unbeatable stability, and scales for larger installations," Walker said.
The company did not disclose any deals for its new system. In August, Arizona State University unveiled five nanonation Internet and e-mail kiosks in its student center.
