LINCOLN, Neb. - For the second season Nanonation and SBC will be entertaining college football fans throughout the United States with the "SBC's College Football Connection" promotional tour. According to a news release, the traveling road show began September 1st and introduced fans on 10 college campuses, covering 14 college games around the U.S. to SBC Yahoo! DSI, SBC Dish Network Satellite TV, SBC Freedom Link and SBC Local/Long Distance Products and Services. Utilizing interactive customer technologies and mobile displays the tour is able to reach out to the fans and share their intensity for the game while demonstrating how SBC's products and services can help them connect to their passion for the sport.
To deliver the necessary event experience, Nanonation, a Nebraska-based software company, designed and developed the software platform and technology services for the traveling promotional tour. DSL stations, plasma monitor stations and Freedom Link Stations are three ways in which SBC College Football Tour is communicating its products and services to fans on game day.
The DSL stations, located in a converted semi-truck, consist of laptop computers running kiosk software that features an easy-to-use interface that is localized for each game day event. Each unit provides customers information on how to get SBC Yahoo! DSL, shows them college football highlight videos, gives them the ability to download Cingular ring tones and the option to look up local eateries. Next to the DSL stations is a 42-inch plasma TV monitor that showcases SBC Yahoo! DSL high-speed Internet versus dial up. A third area within the venue is the Freedom Link Stations which consist of laptop computers that showcase Freedom Link wireless service.
Nanonation also helped SBC to sponsor the Austin City Limits Festival that took place the end of September at Zilker Park in Austin Texas. The third annual Austin City Limits Music Festival, one of the country's most anticipated music events, drew in around 150,000 music lovers. The Music Festival consisted of eight stages with more than 130 music performances, a vibrant art market and exceptional local food vendors. SBC's presence at the event was created through a spacious Internet lounge area for festival attendees that promoted SBC's DSL and Freedom Link Wi-Fi services.
