MusicMagpie expands phone recycling kiosks in UK

MusicMagpie, a U.K. based provider of refurbished consumer technology, has placed three additional SmartDrop kiosks where customers can exchange unwanted phones for cash in three shopping center locations: Manchester Arndale in Manchester, Cribbs Causeway in Bristol and Willow Brook in Bristol, according to a press release.

The company completed an initial rollout of 290 kiosks in Asda stores in October 2022 and at The Trafford Centre in Manchester earlier this year.

The kiosks offer a faster and easier way to recycle unwanted phones for cash. Customers take their phone to a kiosk, receive a valuation, deposit it and then have the money paid to their bank or PayPal account within minutes.

Since the November 2020 launch the kiosks account for 45% of musicMagpie's consumer technology sourcing in the U.K.
