Music kiosks feature piracy management

MINNEAPOLIS -- Rimage Corp. will use technology from Austin, Texas-based piracy management company Smarte Solutions Inc. in its latest line of CD-publishing products.

Rimage is a duplicator that specializes in on-demand, low-volume production runs of DVDs or CDs. According to a report in the Austin Business Journal, the software will allow Rimage kiosks to offer Smarte Solutions' suite of piracy management products to clients who want to burn piracy-managed products at the point of sale.

It also will allow fulfillment houses to swiftly turn around duplication orders on Smarte software-enabled Rimage systems directly from customers, the report said. Financial terms of the deal weren't disclosed.
