The Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai, India, is speeding up the check-in process through kiosks. Travelers can use the kiosks to print their own bag tags and boarding passes, according to a reportby DNA India.
This kiosk deployment is part of an initiative by Mumbai International Airport Limited, the owners of CSIA, to speed up the check-in process. Due to long lines at the check-in, the entire atmosphere can become chaotic, according to the report.
So far, 56 kiosks have been deployed, but only 12 are operational as part of a trial. Currently, passengers still have to go to the self-bag drop counters to get a representative to verify the bags and complete the process.
