SHERMAN OAKS, Calif. and LONDON -- Pocket PC Films, a multimedia distributor for handheld devices such as Pocket PC and Palm OS, will begin distributing its films through kiosks.
UK kiosk developer SoftWide will deploy more than 150 kiosks featuring Pocket PC Films' film and multimedia catalog throughout the UK and Europe during the next year. The initial pilot calls for distribution of seven top-selling Pocket PC Films titles, according to a company news release. No other details on the pilot were available.
SoftWide's in-store kiosk system replicates full-color CDs and prints product-specific, full-color inlays and up to 32-page manuals within a few minutes of a customer's request.
Pocket PC Films also distributes video programming via CDs at retail stores and through the nReach Mobile Content Kiosk, which loads programming directly onto media cards.
