Multimap, BP join forces in England

LONDON - European Internet map service Multimap.com and petroleum company BP PLC are teaming up to get travelers to their destinations. Multimap announced on Oct. 16 that its route-planning service would be added to BP Connect's e-kiosks.

BP Connect e-kiosks are located at about 100 BP stations through the United Kingdom. Customers can use the kiosks to access Internet and e-mail along with the BP Attendant free information service. An icon at BP Attendant will guide travelers to Multimap's Web site, where they can obtain route directions, route times and maps.

"We're really pleased that BP chose Multimap.com to provide content for BP Attendant," Sean Phelan, Multimap.com chief executive officer, said in a news release. "BP Connect forecourt stores are an ideal location for Multimap.com's services."
