Moscow Transport is testing virtual Troika cards at the turnstiles of the Moscow Metro and the Moscow Central Circle, enabling passengers to pay using their smartphones, according to a press release.

Maksim Liksutov, the deputy mayor of Moscow Transport, said most of the tickets will be available for the virtual card. They will be issued in the form of a QR-code which can be scanned at the turnstile of the metro or at the validator of ground transport.

Tickets can be purchased at all the ticket offices and vending machines of the Moscow Metro and at the ticket offices of the Moscow Metro's Big Circle Line.
