Mosaic software at the heart of healthcare system

March 20, 2002

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. - Mosaic Software's Postilion software powers the new MedLink system in Brazil, according to a Mosiac news release. MedLink is a health eligibility and claims system developed by Datatek.

The system went live in June at Golden Cross, a health insurance company with more than 600,000 clients. MedLink provides Golden Cross and its associated care providers with the ability to process eligibility and claims submissions and receive authorizations for patient treatment, the release stated.

Postilion is a platform for Web-Enabled ATM/kiosk applications, electronic funds transfer (EFT) switching, point of sale (POS), pre-pay, and mobile commerce transaction processing.

MedLink also simplifies the relationship between HMOs, insurance companies, and health care providers by scheduling visits, exams, speedy emergency procedure authorizations, patient referrals, materials usage, and daily or periodic claims settlement transactions.

The release stated that MedLink will process more than 400,000 transactions per month.

MedLink was developed by Datatek for TDS (Telecommunications Data Systems), the company responsible for operating the electronic transactions network in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Mosaic Software provides electronic funds transfer (EFT) software for consumer-generated electronic transactions. Its clients include 7-Eleven, American Express, E*Trade, Retail Decisions, Calypso, Transaction Network Services, InnoVentry, Echo, Pick 'n Pay, ABSA Bank, Saambou Bank, NBS, Vodacom, and MTN.
