Chicago Tribune: CheckPoint Mailers is increasing the presence of its airport kiosks that allow patrons to mail home items that they would not be allowed to take onboard their flights - for instance, allowing them to keep that pocket knife or lighter they forgot to leave at home rather than give it over to TSA for destruction. Smarte Carte's Mail Safe Express, a competing service, has mailed back 40,000 items since it was launched in 2004.
