MontegoNet names new managers

February 4, 2004

PORTSMOUTH, R.I. -- Following MontegoNet's recent acquisition of East Greenwich, R.I.-based CartenTech, MontegoNet has appointed two former CartenTech employees to management positions.

Former CartenTech President Mark Carten has been named MontegoNet's director of product development. In his new role, Carten will be responsible for driving the development of innovative solutions for the interactive kiosk market, according to a news release.

MontegoNet has named CartenTech's Steve Marsden as the company's director of business development. Marsden will helm MontegoNet's efforts to expand current markets, and identify and pursue new business opportunities.

"The addition of Mark Carten to the MontegoNet team bolsters our R&D efforts, and will ultimately benefit our customers. This strategic hire underscores MontegoNet's commitment to developing new products and services in direct response to the needs of our customers," said MontegoNet President Thomas Smith in the release.

"At the same time, Steve Marsden will help MontegoNet exploit new business opportunities and expand its market share within the interactive kiosk industry."

Prior to founding Carten Technologies, Carten was a self-employed R&D engineer. Marsden, former CartenTech CFO, has previously held a number of positions in business development and portfolio management.
