Powerful features and extensive media handling engage customers while speed and durability of the system increase business and profitability IRVINE, CALIFORNIA, August 3, 2005 - Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America's Photo Imaging Division today introduced the DPS (Digital Photo Service) Kiosk. The DPS Kiosk allows mini-labs and retailers across industries to grow their businesses and better serve their customers by adding advanced photo processing capabilities via this turnkey, easily managed photo processing center. The DPS Kiosk is a powerful profit center for processing facilities or any retail location that seeks to provide easy, convenient digital photo processing to its customers. The standalone DPS Kiosk is compact and can be situated countertop or mounted on an optional pedestal base. Mitsubishi digital photo printers' jam-free performance eliminates time-consuming maintenance and frustrated customers while increasing profitability. The large, user-friendly touchscreen menu allows customers instant access to the simple, yet feature-rich digital imaging process. Customers can make high quality, professional looking prints quickly through image editing and enhancements via the menu. Reframing, enlarging, lightening, and rotation features are easily accessible with color, black and white or sepia options. The DPS Kiosk accepts most current digital media including Compact Flash, Memory Stick, SD Cards, Smart Media and CDs. For users who want to burn a CD, the DPS Kiosk is fast and efficient with an approximate 40-second burn time for a 24-image photo CD. "Digital photography has exploded beyond the traditional photographic market, both in terms of volume and application," said Margie Chiaramonte, Marketing Manager, Mitsubishi's Photo Imaging Division. "The Mitsubishi Digital DPS Kiosk enables mini-labs and retailers to effectively capitalize on this opportunity and, in doing so, provide their customers with additional value. The DPS Kiosk incorporates a wide range of versatile features, including multiple printer hookups, Bluetooth wireless compatibility, and several print size options, as well as the efficiency and robust performance that increase business and profitability for the operator." The DPS Kiosk offers a variety of connection interfaces, including three USB ports and an Ethernet port. Hardware options include the pedestal base and connection to multiple CP-9550DW or CP-3020DU digital photo printers. This enables the operator to offer his customers a variety of print sizes at high speed with high resolution and exceptional color accuracy. The DPS Kiosk can also accept the customer prepayment card, which ensures greater customer independence during operation and increases loyalty through return business. Another optional feature is the Web Photo Album, at mitsubishialbum.com, where users can load their images to view, share and send to any Mitsubishi kiosk. Shipping in August 2005, the DPS Kiosk carries an MSLP ranging from $5,995 to $13,595.
