MishiPay, a London-based provider of self-checkout technology, has introduced a self-checkout kiosk that uses RFID sensors and allows customers to scan and pay for items without needing to scan the barcodes of every item, according to a press release.

Customers can use their phones to scan the RFID tags of the products they wish to purchase. After completing the purchase, the RFID security tags are automatically deactivated allowing the customers to exit the store without having to remove any hard tags/pins from the items.

The kiosk uses RFID tags embedded in the items or on the tags to track them from the moment they are taken from the shelves. The kiosk is equipped with sensors that can detect these tags and the customer is then required to confirm the items and check out.

MishiPay integrates its kiosk into existing point of sale (POS) systems and payment providers.
