Milwaukee County to deploy 11 harm reduction supply machines

People in Milwaukee County, Wisconsin in need of harm reduction supplies will be able to access supplies at 11 vending machines, according to a press release from the county executive's office. The supplies include fentanyl test strips, nasal naloxone, medication deactivation pouches, medication lock bags and gun locks.

The 11 locations for the machines were selected based on the quality of submitted applications, on site interviews, a review of data identifying areas with the greatest need, and an assessment of foot traffic and accessibility. An application process was launched in April for any interested entities within Milwaukee County's 19 municipalities.

The project will be studied and possibly expanded by an additional 14 machines in 2024.
