Microcom upgrades thermal printer

Microcom Corporation has launched an upgraded version of its 428 series of desktop and kiosk thermal printers, with faster speeds and more user options, said company spokesperson Mitch Tucker in a press release.

The 428 plus series features a highspeed USB port combined with a high-speed Windows driver that allows host-based printing technology, streamlining the printer by drawing on the PC's resources.

The feature provides greater flexibility to create labels, tags, tickets or wristbands using custom fonts, language, barcodes and graphics without printer memory restrictions, Tucker said.

The printers also have 203 DPI or 300 DPI print resolution, a print speed of eight inches per second, auto-loading capabilities and adjustable black line or gap sensors.
