WESTERVILE, Ohio -- A 20.1-inch touchscreen, three different motherboards, and a host of Intel processing solutions are all part of a new transaction terminal system released on July 15 by electronics manufacturer Micro Industries Corp.
Micro Industries' Touch & Go Messenger system is designed for a range of point-of-sale and multimedia applications and will be marketed at the kiosk and retail sectors, according to company officials.
The system comes with a 20.1-inch LCD touchscreen, three Micro Industries' EmbeddedATX-based motherboards, and Intel processors ranging up to the manufacturer's Pentium 4 processor.
Company officials said the system was designed to be eye-catching -- hence the 20-inch touchscreen -- and versatile.
"This system helps (original equipment manufacturers) respond quickly and economically to rapidly changing market conditions with a scalable product that is tailed for the unique needs of their customers," Michael Curran, Micro Industries chief executive officer, said in a news release.
Volume OEM pricing starts at $1,995 for the system, based on processor and output configurations. Smaller quantities are available at higher prices, company officials said.
