Parking kiosks in downtown Kalamazoo, Michigan have been removed two weeks after installation due to technical error as well as ADA violations, according to a WWMT 3 report.

A resident measured the kiosks' height and posted on social media they were too high to comply with ADA requirements, forcing the city to remove the kiosks and repour the cement to fix the violation. Fixing the issues and reinstallation could take weeks, according to city officials, so parking along the Kalamazoo Mall will be free for up to 90 minutes until the kiosks are reinstalled.

"After some discussion, we decided the solution was to both replace the pads and also to put in shorter bases for the meters," city parking and mobility consultant Rob Bacigalupi told the news outlet.
