MIAMI -- Election Systems & Software's (ES&S) iVotronic touchscreen voting equipment appears to have been a good choice for Florida's Broward and Miami-Dade counties' general elections Nov. 5.
The touchscreen voting machines worked without any problems, according to an ES&'s news release. The machines replaced the counties' former voting method known for the infamous "hanging chads." Florida voters used more than 22,400 iVotronic machines in a total of 11 counties to cast their ballots.
Omaha, Neb.-based ES&'s provides hardware and software for election processes in 49 states, Canada and several international locations. According to the release, several California counties are considering the iVotronic touchscreen system for future local elections.
