MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey will welcome back fans next month with newly implemented safety protocols for all upcoming events including New York Giants and New York Jets games, according to a press release.
Reverse ATMs will be available onsite to load cash onto a prepaid Visa debit card valid for in-stadium purchases for guests who bring cash. This service is free of charge to guests.
Contactless payment will be accepted at all point of sale, including self-service kiosks and via "tap to pay" cards and mobile wallets, such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, according to a statement from Appetize, which powers more than 1,300 point-of-sale devices at MetLife.
MetLife Stadium has returned to 100% capacity in the seating bowl, suites and clubs for all events with no physical distancing requirements. Face masks are not required for entry and guests are not required to show a negative COVID-19 test or provide proof of vaccination to enter the stadium.
To reduce touchpoints, the stadium has implemented mobile ticketing upon entry and cash-free transactions at all concession stands and retail locations. Giants and Jets games will also offer guests mobile ordering and "grab and go" food and beverage options.
The NFL season at MetLife Stadium kicks off on Aug. 14 when the Giants face the Jets in their first preseason game.
